First of all, I’m sorry I’ve been MIA these last two weeks. There are reasons for my absence that I can not yet disclose (all good, and not what you’re thinking).
What I can tell you is that F and I just got back from a wonderful and semi-relaxing trip that encompassed CT, MA, and VT. I brought my camera with the intention of being better about chronicling my life experiences in a glamorous fashion (a la my glamorous friend Oline in the City).
F and I did many glamorous things. We dined at the home of a brilliant professor who served us ribs smoked with branches from his very own apple tree, we enjoyed an insider’s tour of a world-renowned museum, and we attended the 19th Annual Wooden Boat Show at the Mystic Seaport. Though there were many glamorous moments to capture on film, the ONLY one that made the cut was breakfast at Dot’s Diner in Wilmington, Vermont.
Ever since we ate at Dot’s on our honeymoon two years ago, we have craved the homemade multigrain bread. It’s hot. It’s crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. It’s sweet and crunchy and amazing. It is, by far, the best bread in the entire world. It is bread so good that I wrote this blog post just so I could share these photos:
